Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, the small rural town of Delight, Arkansas, was called Wolf Creek. Later, it became Delight because the residents thought it was "a delightful place to live." The owner and host, Penny Richards, agrees. It seemed natural to name her cabin after the town, which is featured in a series of five books written for the Harlequin Love Inspired Historical line set in Wolf Creek in the 1800s. Coincidentally, or maybe not, Wolf Creek is just across the road from the cabin. The space is a single cozy room with a full bath and mini kitchen area. Besides large book cover posters, the cabin is decorated with a blend of new and reclaimed/upcycled pieces that were collected over time, creating a unique blending of contemporary and vintage items. The bathtub is an oval watering trough, and the tub surround is reclaimed corrugated tin. The bathroom also boasts an oval sink, real rock countertop and a stained-glass window made from glass scraps picked up at a local trade days. The sleeping area has a queen-size bed with new coil/memory foam mattress, luggage rack and chest filled with games and books. There is no tv, but there is wireless internet and you are welcome to use it to download movies on your personal devices. A small window unit provides cooling in summer and an electric fireplace heats the room in winter. A front porch with a double rocker provides a place to sit and drink your morning coffee, weather permitting. Two antique folding chairs and a dropleaf table are easily accessed to provide meal seating for two. Plates, cups, flatware, and glasses are furnished as well as a K-cup coffeepot, small microwave and mini fridge hidden under the countertop. Getting around Everything in the town of Washington is within walking distance. The visitor center for Historic Washington State Park is only four blocks from the front door. For lunch, Williams Tavern Restaurant is only two blocks just down the street. Grace Cottage is located 8 miles from Hope and 33 miles from the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro. At Grace Cottage, we ask our guests to respect and treat the property as if it were their own. No smoking or pets are allowed on the premises. Check-in is anytime after 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out is no later than 11am on the day of departure. Linens are normally not changed every day in order to conserve water and energy, but if you need fresh towels just ask. Built in 1930, this cottage style house has been fully remodeled with modern amenities and just a touch of farm house rustic style, complete with some original items from the 1930 construction. We hope that you'll enjoy the upgrades on the 'cottage style' charm of 'Cottage on Elm!' Located just a few blocks from downtown, it is easy to get to anywhere in El Dorado, including the Murphy Arts District (MAD). The space Cottage on Elm has been fully remodeled to include all the conveniences of modern day living. The house is equipped with all stainless steel kitchen appliances (including a dishwasher), washer/dryer, and patio grill. Security: The house comes equipped with smart locks (digital key codes) and a monitored security system fire/CO/motion/entry/window. Guests can pick their own code(s) prior to check-in. On the electronics side, there are smart TVs available in both the living room and master bedroom. Guests can choose to watch Netflix or sign in with their own streaming accounts. The third bedroom has two twin-sized beds. There are two roll away twin size beds and an inflatable mattress available.
